Dear fellow citizens,

On the International Human Rights Day, we take one more opportunity to raise our voice to call for respect and defense of human rights in our country and elsewhere in the world.

Human rights and freedoms in the Republic of Macedonia are violated in many aspects. Workers, students, children, persons with special needs, ethnic minorities, and many other categories in the society are humiliated, manipulated, and discriminated every day and in many ways. The Constitution and laws that guarantee human rights and freedoms are not implemented, or just partially implemented. Violators hold important positions in the institutions, using their positions to get away with their deeds in a scandalous way before the eyes of the whole public, disregarding decency and ethics. This behavior affects all segments of the society.

It is time to end ignorance about human rights and freedoms. It is time to speak up loud and clear about deprivation of human rights and freedoms in the Republic of Macedonia. Human rights cannot wait for better times. Better times will never come if human rights are not fully respected by everyone in favor of everyone.

Dear Friends, human rights and freedoms belong to every human being at birth. They are indivisible and universal. Human rights and freedoms make us human.

Learn about your human rights and freedoms, and tell others. That is the first step only. You need to fight for your rights, and help others fight for their rights! Violation of human rights leads to violence and destruction. The fight for your rights leads to peace, democracy and prosperity for you and your children.

Fight for your rights!

Sincerely yours,

Xhabir M. Deralla
